Biggins, Marie Louise (24 April 1926 - 16 July 2014)
Marie Louise Biggins, 88, of Neillsville died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the
Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.
Marie Louise Christensen was born April 24, 1926, in Newburgh, NY, the daughter
of Alfred and Edith (Anderson) Christensen. She graduated from high school in
Mayville, NY, in 1944 and then worked as a waitress. Lat5er, she moved to
Minnesota and was united in marriage to Blanchford B. Biggins in Minneapolis,
MN, Nov. 10, 1947. The lived in Rockford, IL, and then Caledonia, IL, for 29
years before retiring and moving to Shell lake, where they lived for 25 years.
After her husband’s death, she moved to Neillsville and in January 2013 she
moved to the Clark County Health Care Center.
Marie was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville. She loved to
dance, especially polkas, do needle point and go fishing. She was known as the
entertainer of her family and did a great job getting everyone together for
family reunions.
She is survived by a daughter, Belinda (Dennis) of Orion, IL; a daughter-n-law,
Connie (Scott) Johnson of Belvidere, IL; three grandchildren, Brandy Biggins of
Belvidere, IL, Bridget Paul of Roscoe, IL, and Becky Counsell of Belvidere, IL;
a great-grandson, Trevor Paul of Roscoe, IL; and three siblings, Eleanor
Wickland of Abbotsford, Ed Christensen of Neillsville and Ellen (Jack) Moffatt
of Alamogordo, NM.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Brad and Brian;
a grandson, Benjamin Johnson; and a brother, Carl Christensen.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 21, at the Calvary Church
in Neillsville, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Lowell
Bolstad officiated. Jodi Rueth, organist, provided music. Interment was in the
Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery in Spooner.
