Schoengarth, Robert Ernest (12 January 1934 - 17 July 2014)
Robert Schoengarth, 80, of Neillsville died Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the
Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center, where he has resided since 2010.
Robert Ernest Schoengarth was born Jan. 12, 1934, in Neillsville, the son of
Arthur and Edith (Menning) Schoengarth. He worked for several years at Barr
Minkery in Willard. He was united in marriage to Evelyn J. Olson Feb. 25, 1961
at the upper Pigeon Church in Northfield. They lived in Willard while Bob worked
for Barr’s. In 1964, they moved to Neillsville, and Bob began working for the
Nelson Muffler Factory. He worked there for over 30 years before retiring.
Bob was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville and
served as a communion helper at church for several years. He and Evie loved to
go camping, fishing and traveling to Bronson, MO.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, three children, Connie (Brian) Price of La
Crosse, Carla (Howie) Hainz of Neillsville, and Robert Schoengarth of Price
Prairie, WI; three grandchildren, Jennifer Struensee, David Price and Dana
Price; one great-grandchild, Brody Price; and a sister, Delores (Bernard) Walker
of Neillsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Merlin; and a grandson,
Richard.
Funeral services for Bob were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014, at St.
John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert
officiated. Music was provided by Judy Trunkel organist. Interment was in
Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at
the Gesche Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Casketbearers were David Price, Dennis Walker, Donny Walker, Bob Peterson, Ronny
Burkhalter and Bill Zank.
