The Public Library is finally settled in its now home in City Hall in a large sunny room all newly decorated. New lights, new flooring and uniform shelving, which is not all needed at present, but as the burned books are replaced, will soon be used.

427 books have been entered on the withdrawal books, because either burned or so water soaked as to be useless and a complete inventory has been taken, which show we now have 2,212 books by actual count, 75 new ones and a few at the bindery. Others will be added as soon as convenient. A new dictionary stand and discharging desk will soon be installed.

You are urged to visit you library and suggestions as to new books or other improvements are welcomed.

The favorable comments of all patrons and visitors on Saturday was encouraging and shows an appreciation of the cooperation of the City Council in giving the library the better room, enlarging the windows, putting in the new floor, etc., and Mrs. Christ Scharenbrock for the fine new entrance, donating his work. 132 books were loaned on Saturday. The books and fixtures were insured for $2,800 and $1322.98 damage was allowed.
