Tews, Margaret M. (4 MAR 1919 – 25 JUL 2014)
Margaret M. Tews, 95, Marshfield, died on Friday, July 25, 2014, at Ministry
Saint Joseph’s Hospital Emergency Room. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at
10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, July 30, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield.
Rev. Savarimuthu Selvalaj officiated. Cindy Penker and Michael Gonering provided
the music for the services. Burial was in Hillside Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in
Marshfield.
Margaret Jacobs was born on March 4, 1919, in Big Stone City, S.D., to Frank and
Virginia (nee Rodear) Jacobs. She was a 1938 graduate of Big Stone City High
School. After her education, she moved to Ft. Lewis, Wash., and worked as a
civil servant, and then moved to San Francisco and then to Milwaukee. She moved
to Wisconsin Rapids in 1950 and was the deputy county clerk until her marriage
to Melvin Tews on Oct. 11, 1956. Melvin died on March 10, 1985. After their
marriage, they farmed in the town of Sherman, Clark County, until retiring in
1976, and then moved to the village of Spencer. Margaret moved to Cedar Rail
after the death of Melvin and had lived there since.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger (Dan) Mrotek, Arpin; two grandsons,
Steven (Tasha) Mrotek, Marshfield, and Michael Mrotek, Arpin; and a
great-grandson, Jasper Mrotek.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; two
step-daughters, Anola (Clarence) Hagedorn and Jeanne (Lyle) Henseler; four
brothers; and two sisters.
Her family would like to thank Barb, Kathy, Cindy and Virginia for all their
loving care over the years.
