Barr, Fred Curtiss (1 August 1892 - 30 September 1972)
Fred Curtiss Barr. 80, a native of the Humbird area, died September 30 at his
home in Humbird. Mr. Barr, who farmed most of his lifetime, has been in failing
health for the last three years. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 3,
at 1:30 p.m. from the Humbird United Church of Christ with the Rev. Harold
Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial was made in the Town of Mentor Cemetery. The
Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Fred Barr, the son of Robert and Norrissa E. (Thomas) Barr, was born August 1,
1892, in Humbird and was educated there. His marriage to the former Freda
Schmeller took place June 3, 1914, in Humbird.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Ellis (Verna) Williams
of Humbird; four sisters, Mrs. Zylphia West of Hixton, Mrs. Cora Gunderson of La
Puente, Cal., Mrs. Lelah Gregory of Hastings, Mn, and Mrs. Oscar (Loeta)
Thompson of Black River Falls; and four brothers, Claude Barr of South Rygate,
Mn, Clyde Barr of Buford, N D, Roy Barr of Ogema and Wonthing Barr of Colby.
