St. George, John Lewis (8 AUG 1944 - 10 JUL 2014)
John Lewis St. George, of Abbotsford, died suddenly on July 10, 2014 while
traveling.
John was born in Detroit, MI, on August 8, 1944 and graduated from high school
in Brimley, MI (UP). He lived a life characterized by service. John gave years
to his country in the military and in law enforcement, and gave many hours to
his community through Boy Scouts and various events. After a short career in
real estate, he earned his life of leisure, and enjoyed friends, family,
sailing, traveling, and cheering for the Packers and Red Wings. John's big
heart, zest for life, and generosity will be remembered by many people forever
more.
John is survived by his life partner, Cheryl Caldwell; his siblings: Jim and Tom
St. George of Abbotsford and Colleen Kinghorn of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; nieces
and nephews; many friends; and "his kids."
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary (Brodhagen); and his
brother, Duane.
Following cremation, a Celebration of Life is planned in August in Abbotsford.
Memorials can be directed to Wounded Warriors Project.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the
arrangements.
