Ness, Sharon Ann (Marriage - 7 October 1972)
Wedding vows were exchanged October at Faith Lutheran in Marshfield by Miss
Sharon Ann Ness and Terry Rand. The Rev. Peter K. Anderson officiated at the
6:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony. A reception at the Hotel Charles followed.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. James W. Ness of Marshfield and Mr. and
Mrs. Milton Rand of Rt. 1 Chili.
For her marriage, the bride chose St. Gall and Valenciennes lace combined on a
gown of ivory over white chiffon. A full circular skirt extended into a chapel
train. Her elbow-length veil of ivory silk illusion was secured to a Camelot
headpiece. She carried a nosegay of ivory roses, pompons, carnations, Fuji mums
and foliage as she was presented in marriage by her father.
The bride’s sisters, the Misses Barbara and Karen Ness, attended her as maid of
honor and bridesmaid, respectively. Their gowns of blue chiffon were fashioned
with double-tiered hemline flounce and accented by multi-colored, scalloped
neckline and waistline trim. Nosegays of blue and white Iceberg pompons,
Pinocchio pompons and blue miniature carnations completed their ensembles.
Serving as bestman was Allen Krause, Jr., of Chili. Eric Mortvedt of Stratford
was the groomsman. Ushering duties were shared by Ronald Stelson and Mark Rand.
Tanya Rand was the flower girl. Organist was Maldon Plank.
The new Mrs. Rand is a 1970 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and is
employed in Marshfield as a receptionist. Her husband, who graduated from
Granton High School in 1969 and spent 18 months in the army, is presently
enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Marshfield-Wood County campus.
The newlyweds will make their home in Marshfield following their return from a
wedding trip to Niagara Falls.
