Keller, Paul (? - 12 October 1972)

Funeral services for Paul Keller, 77, a former Neillsville resident who died October 12 in the Black River Falls hospital, were held Monday, October 16, at 9:30 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church there. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Keller and his brothers, two of whom died within approximately a week of one another this spring, built and operated the Silver Dome Ballroom and Supper Club west of Neillsville in the early 1930’s. The ballroom was a popular spot where many of the bigger name bands of the area were booked. The Keller brothers themselves were accomplished musicians and formed a Keller orchestra, with Walter Keller as vocalist, early in the association.

He was a native of Princeton and a veteran of World War I. Mr. Keller retired from the nightclub business in 1955 and farmed at Humbird for six years before moving on to Black River Falls 11 years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; a son, Ray, of Arlington, Tex,; three brothers, Henry of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Walter of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Herbert of Neillsville; and four sisters, Mrs. Ella Reed of Delta, Colo., Mrs. Minnie Schmidt of Ft. Lauderdale, and Mrs. Emma White and Miss Clara Keller, both of Milwaukee.
