Schoengarth, Albert John (4 December 1900 - 20 October 1972)
A retired native, Albert John Schoengarth, 71, of Neillsville, died October 20
at his home. Services were held Monday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home.
The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiated and burial was
made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Albert Schoengarth, the son of Fred and Anna (Klopf) Schoengarth, was born
December 4, 1900, in Neillsville, was educated in local schools and graduated
from Neillsville High School. After graduating from Barber College in Milwaukee
he operated shops in Neillsville and Granton; then went to Milwaukee where he
worked for the A. O. Smith Corporation. He later returned of Neillsville where
he farmed and then operated a milk truck route 1932-1957. Thereafter, Mr.
Schoengarth worked for the Nelson Muffler Corporation until his retirement in
1966 at the age of 65. His marriage to the former Rhoda Davis took place October
12, 1923, in Neillsville. Mrs. Schoengarth died May 27, 1964.
Survivors include three children, Harris Schoengarth of Rt. 3 Neillsville, Gayle
Schoengarth of Janesville and mrs. Michael (Bonnie) North of Milwaukee; a
sister, Mrs. Alvina Gault of Neillsville; and nine grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were: Mark and Mike Schoengarth, Dennis and Donald Walker, Randy
Gault and Larry Schoengarth. Organist Miss Marilyn Galstad sang, “Nearer the
Cross” and “Abide with Me”.
Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Michael North and
family of Milwaukee, Gayle Schoengarth and family of Janesville, Mr. and Mrs.
Rollie Smith of Altoona, Mrs. Glenn Mills of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Franklyn
Reindel of Black river Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Algin Rierson, Frank Schoengarth and
Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Schoengarth of Merrillan, and William Gault and Robin Gault
of Gary, Ind.
