Windom, Nelda Otilda (19 August 1898 - 19 October 1972)
Miss Nelda Otilda Windom, 74, of Greenwood died October 19 in Neillsville, where
she had been a patient since September 15 at Memorial Hospital and Memorial
Home.
Miss Windom, daughter of Thron and Randi Mary (Halverson) Windom, was born
August 19, 1898, in Melrose. She came to Greenwood with her family in 1920. She
was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the American Lutheran Church
Women.
Survivors are two sisters, Miss Helen Windom and Mrs. Ivan (Mary) Hemminger of
Greenwood; two brothers, John Lendo and Elmer Windom of Greenwood; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev.
David Wenger officiated and burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Otto Voie, Clarence Markee, Don Ossman, David Danielson, Gerald
Steffen and Godfrey Dyre.
Mrs. Otto Voie sand, “Den Store Vide Flok” (“Behold the Host”) in Norwegian and
the congregation sang accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Don Warner.
