Clodfelter, Waldemar J. (2 July 1910 - 20 October 1972)

A former resident of the Columbia area, Waldemar J. Clodfelter, 62, of Cambria, died October 20, at Divine Savior’s hospital in Portage. Services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cambria and on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Bitter of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe, officiated and burial was made in the Columbia Cemetery, Town of Hewett.

Waldemar Clodfelter, the son of Howard T. and Marie (Lang) (Brandt) Clodfelter, was born July 2, 1910, in Minneapolis, Minn. He farmed in the Columbia area, drove truck for Kurt Marg, and also worked in the steel mills in Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine.

Survivors include his wife, the former Jean Mae Dahlke; six children, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Mashin of Neillsville, Harriett Clodfelter, at home, Ralph Clodfelter of Williams, Minn., Waldemar (Butch) Clodfelter of Lincoln, Nebr., Howard Clodfelter of Homestead AFB. Fla. And Carl E. Clodfelter, at home; three step-children Larry Bobb of Grand Forks, N.D., James Dahlke, at home and Mrs. Charles (Nancy) Salsbury of Mt. Healthy, O.; and 13 grandchildren. He is also further survived by a sister, Mrs. Dorothea Fett of Pompano Beach, Fla.; by two brothers, Bertrand Clodfelter of Mt. Home, Ark., and by his stepmother, Mrs. Helen Nelson of Rosholt.

Pallbearers were Clarence Fox, Donald Mashin, William Sollberger, Norman Sage, Carl Eslinger and Harry Ambelang. Mr. Harold Mayer sang “Asleep in Jesus, Blessed Sleep” and “For Me to Live is Jesus”. She was accompanied by Victor Lehmann.

Attending the services from out of town were Mrs. Jean Clodfelter, Carl E., Harriet and James, and Bertrand Clodfelter of Cambria, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Clodfelter of Williams, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clodfelter of Homestead, Fla., Waldemar Clodfelter of Lincoln, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Karl Clodfelter of Mountain Home, Ark.; Mrs. Yarmille Clodfelter of Blue Island, Ill., and Mrs. Dorothy Fett of Pompano Beach, Fla.
