Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Dora Welsch, 90, Colby, will be held at 11 a.m.
Thursday, July 14, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby.
Mrs. Welsch died at 6 p.m. Monday July 11, at her home. Officiating at the
funeral mass will be the Rev. Frank Brickl, celebrant; the Rev. Raymond Schulz,
Deacon and the Rev. Ahbrose Blenker, Subdeacon. The Christian Mothers rosary and
Forester rosary were said at 8:15 Wednesday evening, followed by a general
rosary. Funeral arrangements were handled by Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.
Mrs. Welsch was born Emma Dora Harry May 5, 1876, at Two Rivers. She came to the
Unity area at the age of 12, and was married to Henry Welsch on May 10, 1899, at
Colby. Following their marriage the couple lived west of Unity where they
operated a cheese factory for five years. They then lived in the brighton area
for some years, moving to Colby in 1910. Mr. Welsch died in 1954.
Mrs. Welsch was a member of the Lady Foresters and the Christian Mothers society
of St. Mary’s parish.
Mrs. Welsch’s sole survivor is one daughter, Mrs. Nathan (Nola) Dessloch. She
was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
