Luber, August (07 Dec 1879 - 24 June 1969)

Funeral services were held at Loyal for August C. Luber, 89, of route 1, Loyal, who died of old age complications Tuesday, June 24at the Memorial nursing home, at Neillsville.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Myre Funeral Home with The Rev. William Humlie offiiciating and burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Arnold Pieper, Earl Zabel, Garth Luchterhand, Art Olsen and FrankmRakovec.

Mrs. John A. Olsen was the organist and William Chambers the soloist. He sang "Abide With Me" and "Nearer My God to Thee'

Mr. Luber was born December 7, 1879 in Granton County. October 23, 1906 he married Clara Paulus, in Grant County. After his marriage the couple moved to Stratford and a short time later to Loyal area. In 1926 they moved to their present farm in the town of Beaver where they lived until March of this year when they moved to the Memorial Home in Neillsville.

He was a patrolman for Clark Co. Highway Dept. for over 30 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 3 sons, Virgil, Eau Claire, Ford, Rice Lake and Allen, Loyal; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, 9 brothers and 3 sisters.
