Baxter, Lorraine (1 Oct. 1966)
The wedding of Miss Lorraine Baxter, route 1, Dorchester, and Philip Marein, Birnamwood, took place Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. Ambrose Blenker officiated over the nuptial rites, and music was provided by the parish children’s choir.
Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Baxter, route 1, Dorchester, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Marein, Birnamwood.
Attending the bride were Mrs. Sandra Weiss, Dorchester, Miss Diane Budleski, Miss Christine Blair, Wausau, and Mrs. Sandra Gilray, Birnamwood. The groom’s attendants were Kenneth Gilray, Birnamwood, John Ulsek, Milwaukee, Frank Miller, Birnamwood, and Richard Marvin, Birnamwood. Ushers were Dan Baxter, Milwaukee, and Rick Treba, Wittenberg. Jack Baxter, Dorchester, was the ring bearer.
For her wedding, the bride wore a full, floor- length gown of Chantilly lace and peau de sole with a lace bodice, long lace sleeves, and a lace front with peau de sole redingote effect. The detachable train of peau de sole had lace edging. The nylon illusion bouffant veil was held in place by a double-tiered pearl and crystal crown. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations in a cascade arrangement.
The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Dorchester hall, a supper in the St. Louis Catholic Church basement, and a dance at the Dorchester hall.
The bride is a 1965 graduate of Abbotsford high school, and had been employed at Employer’s Insurance of Wausau. Her husband is a 1963 graduate of high school and is employed by the Chrysler Corp. at Belvidere, Ill. The couple will be making their home at 1210 West King St., Janesville.
