------ Sprotte, Laura Emma (11 MAY 1903 – 31 JUL 1966)
Mrs. Henry Sprotte, 63, route 1, Abbotsford, died at 1:23 a.m. Sunday, July 31,
at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield. Mrs. Sprotte had been admitted to the
hospital earlier that same day. She had been in ill health for some time.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran church, Milan. The
Rev. Ferdinand Timler officiated and burial was in the Milan cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gordon Denzin, Eldred Empey, Donald Paul, Marvin Venzke and
Vern Wittlinger. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Maurina Funeral Home,
Dorchester.
Born Laura Emma Gleaser May 11, 1903, at Manitowoc, her marriage to Henry
Sprotte took place July 29, 1927, at Waukegan, Ill. Following their marriage,
the couple resided at Tomahawk and then in Michigan before moving to a farm in
the town of Holton 31 years ago. Mrs. Sprotte was a member of the Bethlehem
Lutheran church, Milan, and its Ladies’ Aid society.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Muriel) Moynihan,
Milwaukee, a son, Wallace, route 1, Abbotsford, and two grand children.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
