The wedding of Miss Catherine Nelson, Milwaukee, and Roy C. Venzke took place at
the Bethlehem Lutheran church, Milan, Saturday evening at 8 p.m. August 6. The
attendants were the groom’s cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Buss of Abbotsford.
The Rev. Ferdinand Timler performed the wedding ceremony.
The bride chose a pink dress for her wedding and she wore a shite net hat with
beige bows. The matron of honor wore a blue suit and a brown net hat.
A reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Venzke, rural Athens, immediately following the wedding ceremony.
Guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Venzke, Milan, Mr. and Mrs.
Edmund Bahr and daughter, Beverly, Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Buss, Abbotsford,
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Solchenberger and family and Mrs. Matt Solchenberger, of
Athens, Fred Bahr and Miss Barbara Purwitz, Wausau, and an army buddy who came
home on leave with Roy; Gerald Smith, of West Palm Beach, Fla. The bride’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Nelson, Milwaukee, were unable to attend the
wedding.
The mother of the groom was attired in a cream colored suit, trimmed in pink.
