------ Wendt, Diane L (20 AUG 1966)
Wayne R. Schade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schade of Abbotsford, took Miss
Diane L. Wendt of Sussex as his bride in a ceremony performed by her uncle, the
Rev. Irvan Motz of Illinois, Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Sussex Methodist church.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wendt of Sussex appeared at the 2:30
o’clock ceremony in a gown of silk organza over taffeta. It was designed in
empire and sheath mode with Venice reembroidered lace at the neckline and
sleeves. The square court train was topped with a bow. The crown which held her
silk illusion veil was fashioned of lace and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet
of white phalaenopsis orchids, stephanotis and ivy.
Attending the couple were Miss Roberta Schmidt of Sussex and Stanley Grove of
Menomonee Falls, as maid of honor and best man, and Mrs. Dennis Bowen of Wausau,
sister of the groom and Pete Kopplin.
Ushers were Robert Kornmann of Menomonee Falls, Dennis Bowen of Wausau and
Richard Wendt of New Berlin.
The bride’s attendants were attired alike in aqua dresses made with crepe sheath
skirts and bodices of shantung with a watteau panel of shantung flowing from the
back of the neckline. They carried bouquets of pale pink glamellias and white
button mums.
About 185 guests attended the buffet supper at Germantown.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Schade will make their home at Sussex where he is a member
of the high school faculty. His bride is a secretary.
