------ Jensen, Linnea (13 AUG 1966)
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Edward Zier are now at home at 1215 S. Dewey, Apt. 19, Eau
Claire.
The marriage of Miss Linnea Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jensen of
Abbotsford, and Samuel Edward Zier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Zier of
Dorchester, took place Saturday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Christian Assembly of
God church, Wausau.
The Rev. Thure Johnson of Bisbee, Ariz., grand father of the bride, assisted by
the Rev. Wilbur Mandigo of East Moline, Ill., her uncle, officiated at the
service before the altar dedicated for the occasion two vases of white gladiolus
and pompons.
Mrs. Gordon Zillman of Wausau was the organist, Miss Patricia Wright of Portage
sang “The Song of Ruth” by Gonnod and “Wedding Prayer” by Dunlap and the Rev.
and Mrs. Mandigo sang “Together Life’s Pathway We Tread” by Fromm.
The bride, presented in marriage by her father, was attired in a long sleeved
gown of nylon organza embellished with Alencon lace. Lace appliques detailed the
Sabrina neckline and the controlled dome skirt, with a double detachable watteau
train extending to chapel length. A nylon organza pillbox secured the bouffant
veil of nylon illusion. Yellow roses and white carnations with stephanotis and
ivy were combined in her bouquet.
Miss Tamie Venzke, Abbotsford, her cousin, was the miniature bride and was
attired like the bride and carried a similar bouquet.
Attending as matron of honor was Mrs. Sharon Larkin of Tomah. The bridesmaids
were Miss Sandra Pickop of Manitowoc and Miss Karen Jensen of Abbotsford. The
color scheme of their ensembles was topaz and gold as carried out in their floor
length linen dresses fashioned with elbow length sleeves, scoop necklines and
back panels with Venice lace. Blush veils were secured to gold linen open
pillboxes and yellow and bronze pompons were combined in their colonial
bouquets.
Mark Pokrant of Rockford, Ill., the bride’s cousin, was ring bearer, and Dan
Jantsch of Dorchester was best man. David Jensen of Abbotsford and Dan Zier of
Dorchester served as groomsmen and Charles Trainor of Manitowoc and Joe Herman
of Appleton were ushers.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Zier received the congratulations of relatives and friends
at a reception following the ceremony in the church parlor. Guests came from
Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Sheboygan, Wauwatosa, Fond du Lac, Mattoon, Wausau,
Appleton, Abbotsford, Dorchester, Curtiss, Milan, Athens, Colby, Manitowoc,
Watertown, from Crystal Lake, East Moline, Rockford and Chicago, Ill., Bismarck,
N. Dak., Bisbee, Ariz., Minneapolis and St Paul, Minn., Springfield, Mo., and
Gilbert, Ia.
The bride is a 1962 graduate of the Dor-Abby high school and a June graduate of
Wisconsin state college, Eau Claire. She will teach at Cadott this fall. Mr.
Zier was graduated from the Dor-Abby high school the same year and presently is
a senior at Wisconsin state university, Eau Claire.
