Roehl, Verna (30 April 1922 - 15 November 1972)
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from Grace Lutheran Church at
Nasonville for Mrs. Walter Roehl, 50, of Rt. 1 Granton, who died November 15 at
St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. The Rev. Kenneth Petersen officiated and
burial was made in the Lynn Cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton was
in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Roehl, the former Verna Gaulke, was born April 30, 1922, in the Town of
Fremont and was educated there. Her marriage to Walter Roehl took place April
20, 1940, at Nasonville. The couple lived in the Town of Fremont for about two
years following their marriage and then moved to a farm in the Town of Lynn,
where they resided since that time. Mrs. Roehl was a member of Grace Lutheran
Church at Nasonville.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Jerold Roehl of Granton
and Gene Roehl of Chili; a daughter, Miss Janice Roehl of Milwaukee; and five
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Barth, Raymond Barth, Louis Grottke, Harold Embke,
Clifford Roehl and Warren Sternitzky. “The Lord is My Shepherd” and “Have Thine
own Way” were sung by Mrs. Lawrence Dix and Mrs. Kenneth Petersen. Mrs. Earl
Meissner was the organist.
