Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gilman and family of Port Washington spent the weekend at the
S. Plank home.
P.W. Gullord left Thursday for a visit at the home of his son Edward at Mont
Claire, N.J.
Mrs. Loren Giswold and daughter returned Wednesday from a visit with relatives
at Superior.
Neil Tyrrell of Cornell is spending the week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
H.M. Pratt.
The American Legion will meet Tuesday evening, June 20th at their club rooms.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kiefer of Witoka, Minn., on June 6, 1939, a baby girl.
Mrs. Ignac Cesnik of HIllsboro called on Mr. and Mrs. John Snedic Sunday.
Edwin Plisch and Miss Anna Augustine of Athens visited Sunday at the Christ
Keiner home.
Mrs. Irvin Carl spent yesterday with her mother in Neillsville and was a supper
guest of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Carl.
Miss Theresa Arends, who has been attending school in Eau Claire, returned home
Friday for her summer vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Kenyon and Betty left Sunday for Milwaukee to visit relatives
and where Mr. Kenyon will attend a Masonic convention.
Mrs. T.F. Schiller and daughters Frances and Dora spent from Friday until Monday
at Madison, Juneau and Dickeyville.
The American Legion Auxiliary will met Tuesday evening, June 20 at the Legion
Hall. Hostesses will be Mrs. Carlin Franz, Mrs. Harry Gordee and Mrs. Clarence
Haigh.
Mrs. Joe Godec of Willard called on Mrs. John Snedic Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vollrath called at the John Vollrath home Sunday.
Miss Zora Briskii, Chicago, called on Lorraine Vollrath Wednesday evening.
Harland Carl returned home Sunday after a week's visit with his cousin, Wilmer
Lueck, at Christie.
Conrad Olson underwent an appendix operation at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire,
last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lemley of Akron, Ohio arrived Monday for a visit at the Al and
Don Armstrong homes.
Miss Lucille Syth returned home from Milwaukee Saturday for an extended visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Louie Behrens spent Sunday afternoon at the Odin Wang home at
Neillsville.
Mrs. Geo. Haeuser of St. Paul arrived Sunday for a visit with her mother, Mrs.
E.T. Burch.
Mrs. A.J. Currie and daughter Betty of Elcho arrived Tuesday for a week's visit
her with friends.
Rev. and Mrs. Geo. Heilman and daughters visited Sunday at the Rev. M.C. Goetsch
home at Colby.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Horn and family are spending the week at Spider Lake at the
Ed Fahey cottage.
Lawrence Corbin of Pittsville visited at the Christ Keiner home a couple of days
this week.
Mrs. E.L. Ketchpaw returned home Saturday after visiting relatives and friends
in Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. Herny Keiner, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Hare, Miss Helen Lindeman and
Fred Perko spent Sunday at Jim Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Krahn of Sauk City spent the weekend at the Wm. Orth and
Mrs. Hubble homes, and called on friends.
James Neuenfeldt of Milwaukee arrived Saturday for a two week vacation with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Neuenfeldt.
Wm. Buchsteiner of Neillsville called on friends here Monday. He reports Mrs.
Buchsteiner as gaining slowly after being injured in an automobile accident.
Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Vinger and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ludwig left Wednesday for
Mandan, S.D., to attend the 7th annual convention of the Credit companies.
Sunday afternoon guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Vollrath were Mr. and
Mrs. Art Wehrman and children Jeanette and Junior, Mr. and Mrs. Arno Miller and
daughter Joann and Mrs. Albert Miller.
Mrs. E.L. Mlada and Mrs. H.M. Pratt entertained the members of the bridge club
at a 1:00 luncheon, followed by bridge at the Pratt home. Prizes were awarded to
Mrs. Louis Brown, Mrs. Ray Knutson and Mrs. C.C. Hoehne. Miss Mabel Bishop won
the traveling prize.
