Willard Farmer Dies Thursday
Rites Monday for Joseph Perko, 89
WILLARD---Joseph Perko Sr., 89, Willard, die of complications at 7:55 p.m.
Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield where he had been a patient for
the past 13 days.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Hill Funeral Home in
Greenwood, and at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The
Rev. William Nicholai will officiate and burial will be made in the Holy Family
Church cemetery. Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home beginning Sunday
morning.
Joseph Perko Sr. was born March 19, 1874, in Austria. His marriage to Mary
Horhevar, who preceded him in death Dec. 3, 1944, took place May 7, 1900, in
Pueblo, Colo. The couple came to Willard in 1910 and settle on a farm 31/2 miles
southwest of here where he had since resided.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the KSKJ Lodge.
Mr. Perko is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Landini, Willard: and Mrs.
Joseph (Alga) Zimmerman, Cleveland, Ohio: seven sons. Joseph, Ely, Minn.: Felix,
Chicago, Ill.: Charles, Lac du Flambeau: Fred, Davenport, Iowa: Albert, New
Orleans, La.: and Louis, Willard: a brother, Ignatz Perko, Austria: 17
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
