Willard 4-H Club (November News - 1972)

This news was intended for last week:

The Willard 4-H club held its monthly meeting at 8 p.m. November 14. Ivan Ruzic lead flag pledges. Roll call was taken. Debby Craig introduced the club to the parents. There was new business about toys for Santa’s workshop and about cutting trees to sell for Christmas. Talks were given by Ivan Ruzic, Eddie Bayuk and Tim Bayuk.

November 14 was Achievement night and wars were given out. Awards for graduates were to: Carol Govek, eight years; William Govek, eight years; Ruth Krainz, six years; Natalie Nast, 1 year; Barb Shain, six years; and Kathy Trunkel, Three years.

Awards for club members were given and they received an enrollment pin. They were: Teresa Bayuk, Leianna Gregorich and Rose Rakovec. Rose Rakovec also received a junior certificate for gardening.

Senior honor cards went to Donna Volovsek, arts and crafts, and Linda Volovsek, dairy.

Medals were received by: Daniel Trunkel, arts and crafts; Debby Craig, food preservation; Larry Krainz, money management; Ruth Krainz, insects and gardening; Carol Govek, citizenship.

First year project leaders received certificates: Mrs. Ed Volovsek, knitting; Mr. and Mrs. Ron Volovsek, general leaders; Mrs. Frank Govek, work in concession stand.

Carol Govek talked about her trip to New York where she went as an interstate exchange 4-H member. Linda Volovsek also was an interstate exchange student to Tennessee.

Larry Krainz talked about his citizenship trip this summer to Washington, DC. Carol Govek talked about what the club did in the last year. Jim Van Wychen spoke. Record books were given out. Eleven books were sent in and eight received awards.

The meeting was adjourned at 9 o’clock. A lunch was served by the mothers. - Reporters, Pamela Suda and Betty Bayuk.
