Metcalf, Mr./Mrs. James (40th – 20 OCT 1947)
On Saturday evening, Oct. 18, 1947, friends and relatives surprised Mr. and Mrs.
James Metcalf in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary at their home northwest
of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).
The former Clara Vollrath and James Metcalf were married Oct. 20, 1907 at
Hayward. They resided at Hayward for several years and then moved to Greenwood,
settling on their present farm, 10 miles northwest of here.
The Metcalf's have four children, Mrs. Ben Dallman and Leroy Metcalf, Greenwood;
Everett, who is attending school at Eau Claire, and Dale in the Navy.
At a late hour lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf received many lovely gifts
and a purse of money.

Braun and daughter June; Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Horn; Mr. and Mrs. George Poppe:

Geo. Vollrath; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vollrath, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Metcalf and
family; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dallman and family; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Speich; Mr. and
Mrs. George Braun and daughters, Verna Mae and Jean.
