Horvat, Johana (18 October 1886 - 8 December 1972)

Mrs. Johana Horvat, 86, died December 8 in Neillsville. The former Johana Godec was born October 18, 1886 in Yugoslavia. She was married to John Horvat in 1906. They came to Colorado that year from Yugoslavia and lived there until 1916, when they moved to a farm in Willard. Mr. Horvat died August 25, 1930.

Mrs. Horvat continued to live at Willard until coming to Greenwood in 1950. Two years ago she became a resident of Memorial Home in Neillsville. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Society.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Klune of Neillsville, Mrs. Joseph (Jennie) Tolaney of Greenwood and Mrs. Val (Helen) Krainz of Willard; a son, Rudy Horvat of Willard; 34 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; and three sisters in Europe.

Funeral services were held Monday in Greenwood. The Rev. Leander Koopman officiated and burial was made in the Holy Family Cemetery in Willard.
