Matousek, Frank A. (6 February 1909 - 6 December 1972)
An employee of the Clark County Highway department for 28 years, Frank A.
Matousek, 63, of Neillsville, died December 6 at his home. Funeral services were
held Saturday, December 9, from the Georgas Funeral Home with The Rev. Charles
D. Brady of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiating. Interment was in St. Mary’s
Cemetery.
Frank Matousek, the son of Frank, Sr., and Marie (Skalvik) Matousek was born
February 6, 1909, in Berwyn, Ill. He was educated in schools in Illinois and in
Clark County. His marriage to the former Lucille Smitke took place July 30,
1934, in Thorp.
Mr. Matousek farmed in the Town of Washburn and in the Town of Levis and was
employed by the highway department for 28 years as a shop foreman. He retired
because of failing health.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three children, Frank Matousek, Miss
Beverly Matousek and Larry Matousek, all of Milwaukee; a sister, mrs. Tony
(Lillian) Matalas of Merrillan; a brother, Louie Matousek of Lewisville, Tex.;
and nine grandchildren
Pallbearers were Russell Lyons, Arnold Carl, Louis Zschernitz, Jack Kluckhohn,
Delbert Langreck and Robert Sebesta. Employees of the county highway department
attended the services as a body.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Matousek, Jr., and family, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Matousek and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Al Lewis and Doris Simerl, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Louie
Matousek, Lewisville, Tex, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Matalas, Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs.
lee Vieregge, La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pagenkopf, Wheaton, Ill.; Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth Dodmead, Addison, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Boie, Casper Haas, Sr.,
Margaret Kass and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Smitke, Thorp; Oscar Boie, Lillian
McCarty and George Holub, Greenwood; Mrs. Millard Timlin, Stanley; Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Smith, Eau Claire; and Monika Gildner, Waukesha.
Friends from Granton, Loyal and Neillsville also were present.
