A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Amacher of Abbotsford Thursday, Oct.
13, at Memorial hospital, Wausau. She weighed eight pounds nine ounces and was
named Shawn Rae. The Amachers have another daughter and a son.
Grand parents of the children are Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Amacher of Abbotsford and
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Viegut of rural Dorchester.

Shaun Rae, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Amacher of Abbotsford was
baptized at Christ Lutheran church, Abbotsford, Sunday morning with the Rev. F.
H. Sprengler officiating. Her sponsors were Mrs. Clarence Viegut Jr. and Ronald
Graffunder.
To celebrate the occasion, guests were served dinner at the Medo-Farms
Restaurant and supper at the Amacher home.
In the group were the Rev. and Mrs. F. H. Sprengler and Shirley and Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Viegut and family, Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Viegut Jr. and
family, Tomahawk, Jerry Carstensen of Medford, Mrs. H. J. Amacher, Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Graffunder and family and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Amacher and family, all of
Abbotsford.

Auman, Victor (7 February 1916 – 8 November 1985)
Victor Auman, 68, of Taylor Ridge, Illinois, a native of Willard, dies Friday,
November 8, in Illinois.
Mr. Auman was born February 7, 1916, in Willard to Frank and Angeline (Farkel)
Auman. He married Sylvia Goste, March 20, 1939, in Eau Claire. Mr. Auman moved
to Taylor Ridge in 1976. He was a machinist with the Goss Printing Presses.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Jean Rayne, Taylor Ridge;
Glenda Survillas, Orange, California; and Patricia Scasa, Naperville, Illinois;
five grandchildren; five sisters, Antonia Panyan, Duluth, Minnesota; Mary
Dergance and Stephie Gadowic, of Willard; Angeline Verhunce of Greenwood; and
Anne Hoffman, of Reno, Nevada.
Private services were conducted Sunday, November 10, at the Larson Funeral Home
in Milan, Illinois. Cremation followed.

Durni, Ida C. (5 February 1904 – 14 November 1985)
Rev. Richard Weber, officiated at rites held Saturday, November 16, at Gesche
Funeral Home, Neillsville, for Ida C. Durni, who died in the early morning hours
of Thursday November 14.
The eighty-one year old resident of Pine View Nursing Home, Black River Falls
has been in failing health. Burial was made in the Hatfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike and Donald Seitz, Arnie Weber, Harley Olson, Bill
Perington and Paul Hampton.
Mrs. Durni was born February 5, 1894, at Michigan City, North Dakota, the
daughter of Ernest and Anna (Scharf) Grottke. Educated in Neillsville at St.
John’s Lutheran School, she also attended the Wausau Business College and worked
in Milwaukee for many years.
Following her marriage to Faune J. Durni, at Dubuque, Iowa, on June 17, 1944,
they lived for a time in Milwaukee. Later, moving to Platteville, she was
employed there until retirement. Before entering the nursing home at Black River
Falls, she had resided at Hatfield. Her husband preceded her on May 10, 1982.
Mrs. Durni was a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the
Hatfield Sportsman Club.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. Donald (Delores) Seitz, Platteville, and Duane
Durni, Hazel Green, Wisconsin; one brother, Herb Grottke, Hatfield; three
grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, five
brothers and a sister.

Feyen, Lorraine (? – 21 November 1985)
Sixty-eight year old Lorraine Feyen of Moline, Iowa, passed away Thursday,
November 21, at Lutheran Hospital there. A memorial Mass was said at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church, Moline, on Saturday, November 23.
The former Lorraine M. Kuepper was born in Fort Atkinson. In August 1942, she
married Ernest C. Feyen, in Davenport, Iowa. She was employed at Moline’s
Jackson Bakery, and retired in 1979.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Bernadette Wheatley and Omar J.,
both of Moline; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Harley E.
Miller, Neillsville; and two sisters, Jean Borden, Davenport, Iowa, and Florence
Evanson, Wausau.

Hagen, Gustav A. (12 September 1912 – 1 December 1985)
Gustav A. Hagen, 73, of 209 E. 12th St., Neillsville, died suddenly on Sunday
afternoon December 1.
Mr. Hagen was born September 12, 1912, at Chicago, Illinois, the son of Herman
and Mary (Wahl) Hagen. The family moved to the Town of Weston while Gustav was a
young boy, and he was educated there. Later, he farmed with his parents and
after their retirement, he continued to work the home farm. On June 19, 1948, he
married Doris G. Schuelke, at Granton. She survives him.
After fifty-one years of farming in the Town of Weston, he retired and moved to
Neillsville in 1969. Employed at Marg’s Fur Farm, he retired from that position
in 1977.
Other surviving family members are three sisters, Mrs. Lester (Lillian) May,
Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Max (Bertha) Huckstead, Willard, and Mrs. Mary Thoma,
Berlin; and a brother, Herman, of Neillsville. He was predeceased by his parents
and a brother, William.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 4, at Gesche Funeral Home and
Rev. Paul Reede, of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe, officiated. Musical
accompaniment was provided by Mrs. Janice Mayer and Mrs. Iris Musil. Pallbearers
were Donald Turner; Calvin and Jesse Hagen; Ronald, Frederick, Jr. and John
Garbisch. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Hammond, Frederick L. (11 November 1922 – 24 November 1985) With Flag
Sixty-three year old Granton resident Frederick L. Hammond died Sunday morning,
November 24, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.
Born November 11, 1922, at Christie, he was the son of Charles and Sarah (Brown)
Hammond. His education was obtained at Granton Schools. A veteran of World War
II, he worked at various jobs throughout the area.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ruth Garbisch, Williamsburg, Virginia; two
brothers, George of Loyal, and John, Granton. He was predeceased by a sister and
seven brothers.
Services were held at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, on Wednesday, November
27. Music was provided by Jeanette Steiner and Heidi Moore. Rev. Howard Ott
officiated, and burial was at Windfall Cemetery.

Henninger, Adolph (Shake) (24 February 1910 – 17 November 1985) With Flag
Seventy-five year old Adolph (Shake) Henninger of Elgin, Iowa, was found
deceased in his home on Sunday, November 17. Committal services, officiated by
Rev. Calvin Carey, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, at Windfall
Cemetery, Granton. The Neillsville American Legion conducted military rites.
Mr. Henninger was born February 24, 1910, at Fremont, Wisconsin. He was a
veteran serving during World War II, and had been a resident of Elgin, Iowa, for
many years.
Surviving are a sister, Betty Henninger, and brother, Bernard Henninger, both of
Marshfield. Several brothers preceded him in death.

Marg, Frieda (25 December 1895 – 14 November 1985)
Mrs. Frieda Marg, 89, formerly of 1015 S. Ninth St., Watertown died November 14,
at Marquardt Memorial Manor. Funeral services were held Monday at St. John’s
Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Fricke officiating. Burial was in the
Lutheran Cemetery.
The former Frieda Dobbratz was born December 25, 1895, in the Town of Lebanon,
daughter of the late John and Emma Dobbratz. On April 5, 1920, she married
William F. Marg at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. He preceded her in
death on February 4. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, a member of
the Mission Guild and the Fellowship Club of the church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Irene) Uttech of Watertown; two sons,
Everett (Mary) of Oshkosh, and LaVern (Mavis) of Watertown; nine grandchildren,
21 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Hoefs, Watertown; Mrs. Arthur
(Margaret) Schauer of Palmyra, Missouri; Mrs. Beata Kohlhoff of Davenport, Iowa;
and Miss Edna Dobbratz of Watertown; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mildred, a great grandson Brad
Uttech, one brother, Walter, and four sisters, Minnie Huebner, Esther Volkmann,
Eva Dobbratz and Emma Buske.

Ozanich, Marion Irne (? – 10 November 1985)
Mrs. Thomas (Marion) Ozanich, Milwaukee, died in her sleep, Sunday, November 10,
at the Family Nursing Home in Milwaukee. She had been in failing health after a
hip fracture several years ago.
The former Marion Irene Severson, formerly of Greenwood, was born to Sam and Mae
(Sheldon) Severson in Greenwood. Receiving her education in the Greenwood
schools, she had resided in Milwaukee for the past thirty years. She married
Thomas Ozanich March 20, 1942, in Milwaukee.
Survivors include her husband; and five sisters Mrs. Lester (Gertrude) Schuette,
of Denver, Colorado; Angela Severson, of Milwaukee; Leida Kurtzheim and Grace
Luntz, both of Spencer; and Mrs. Ernest (Dorothy) Molle, of Abbotsford.
Predeceasing her were her parents, two brothers, Claude and Hugh Severson; and
three sisters, Mabel Bold, Vivian Schmidt, and Bertha Brandt.
Services were held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in West Allis, November 13.
Committal services were held at the Greenwood City Cemetery the same day.
Schaff’s Funeral Home in Milwaukee was in charge of arrangements and committal
services.

Schlimme, Kathryn E. (8 June 1908 – 17 November 1985)
Graveside services will be held Friday, November 23, 1 p.m., at Neillsville City
Cemetery, for Kathryn E. Schlimme, 77, Rev, Verne Weeks of Stoughton, will
officiate. Visitation will be Thursday evening, from 6-9 p.m., at Gesche Funeral
Home, Neillsville.
Mrs. Schlimme died Sunday, November 17, in Loveland, Colorado. She has resided
at the Good Samaritan Retirement Village there for the past several years, due
to failing health.
She was born June 8, 1908, at Boyd, Wisconsin, the daughter of Elias and Anna
(Toreson) Weeks. Following her education, she married William “Otto” Schlimme.
The couple moved to Neillsville, where she was a school teacher and he owned and
operated a shoe repair shop.
After the death of her husband, in October 1946, she remained in Neillsville
until 1956. At that time, she moved to Fond du Lac where she held the position
of social worker. Moving to Denver, Colorado, in 1967, she was proprietor of
Knitter’s Paradise Shop until her retirement in 1980.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Sonja) West, Loveland, Colorado, and
Corine Schlimme, Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Alice Skoog, Ventura,
California, and Clara Kampe, Alexandria, Virginia; and four grandchildren. She
was predeceased by her husband; one daughter, Charlene Woodward; and three
brothers.
