Fred Francis has purchased the J.A. Williams farm southeast of this city, together with all the personal property. He will take possession soon.

Several snowflakes were seen flying around in the air yesterday. It was a real cold day and sure a lot like winter.

Arnold Beyer has purchased the cheese factory at Warner's Corners and expects to take possession soon.

Walter Johnson, who has been spending the summer at Gilman, arrived home yesterday.

I have 8 stray Holstein cattle. Owner may have same by calling at my place, 1/2 mile west of the Gorman Depot. Paul Oblak.

Mr. and Mrs. Schumaker returned to Augusta last week after a visit here at the home of their daughter, Mrs. C.R. Greene.

Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Rees returned from their visit at Milwaukee and other places today.

James Fahey of Portland, Oregon is visiting at the Ed Fahey and Margaret Shanks homes.

J.R. McKitrick sold his restaurant to Geo. Gemmeke last Saturday. Mr. Gemmeke will take possession Nov. 1st.

Last Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schwarze on the West Side were greatly surprised when a number of neighbors and friends gathered to have a surprise party. The evening was spent in a most enjoyable manner, and all report a good time.

Mrs. Geo. Warner of Caledonia, Wis. And Mrs. Fred Flath of Racine, Wis. Are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fravert on the West Side. Mrs. Fravert is very ill.

Mrs. Geo. VanVoorhis of Minneapolis, Minn. Is visiting relatives and friends in the city.

Mrs. H.M. Root of Neillsville visited at the home of Mrs. Margaret Shanks last week.

Austin Slocomb, an old time resident of Clark County, died at Dickinson, N.D., Oct. 21. His body was brought to Neillsville for burial.

Hallie Allds of Stevens Point is visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Allds.

Born to Rev. and Mrs. O.W. Schreiber on Saturday, Oct. 23rd, a daughter.

H.W. Greene of Toledo, Ohio is visiting at the C.J. Carter and C.R. Green homes.

The Rev. Benjamin Lloyd, who is assisting Rev. Kerr of the First Presbyterian Church at Neillsville, will preach at Rutger Chapel next Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Sabbath school will be at two o'clock.

The county board of equalization is in session at Neillsville this week. The members are Otis Slocomb of Grant, W.G. Royer of Owen, Mat Greisch of Thorp, Fred Theiler of Humbird, Aug. Schmidt of Dorchester, John Mund of Weston, F.M. Pickett of Unity, H.M. Root of Neillsville, and A.J. Young of Abbotsford.

The tile for the L.C. Clute garage has arrived and a crew is now busy hauling it up from the depot. Work on the new addition started Thursday morning.
