DeCremer, Alma Bertha (27 November 1892 - 22 December 1972)

Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Bertha DeCremer, 80, of Memorial Home, who died December 22, were held Tuesday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. DeCremer, the daughter of Albert and Rosa (Brokause) Daminsky, was born November 27, 1892, in Appleton and received her early education there. She also attended Neillsville area schools. Her mother died when Mrs. DeCremer was a young girl and she raised her brothers and sisters.

Her marriage to Charles H. DeCremer took place July 15, 1915, in Neillsville. Mr. DeCremer operated a cigar manufacturing factory. After his death in 1939, Mrs. DeCremer was employed at the Model Laundry for a number of years. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and of its Ladies Aid society and also was a charter member of the Dorcas society. Additionally, Mrs. DeCremer held membership in the American Legion Auxiliary, the V. F. W. Auxiliary and the American Red Cross volunteers’ organization.

Surviving are three children, Clarence DeCremer of Sun Prairie, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Smukal of Neillsville and Norman DeCremer of Tacoma, Wash.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tom Flynn, Carl R. Wegner, Walter Beyer, William Hoffmann, Arthur Ackerman and Roland F. Kalsow. “Abide With me” and “For Me to live is Jesus” were sung by Mrs. Harold Mayer. Victor Lehmann was the accompanist.

Those from out of town who attended the services included Mr. and Mrs. Clarence De Cremer and Mr. and Mrs. James DeCremer, Sun Prairie; Mr. and Mrs. Jack DeCremer, Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomson, Milwaukee; Miss Shirley Tock, La Crosse, Co., John L. Downing, Capt. Clark H. Babl and Dianne Johnson, Madison; and Mr. and Mrs. Armin Moh, Granton.
