Thompson, John (29 September 1873 - 27 December 1972)
Funeral services for John Thompson, 99, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died here
December 27, were held Saturday afternoon from the Thompson home on the River
Road. Burial was made in the Dells Dam Indian Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson, the son of George and Johanna Thompson, was born September 25,
1873, at Bear Bluff in Jackson County. His marriage to the former Nora Red Horn
took place at Valley Junction in 1908. Mrs. Thomson died in 1969. Mr. Thompson
moved to the Town of Levis in the 1930’s from Lansing, Ia. He had worked on boat
construction and was a hunter before coming to Clark County.
Survivors include seven children, Lindsley Thompson of Wisconsin Rapids, Hershel
Thompson of Fairchild, Mrs. Victor (Sylvia) Kingswan of St. Paul, Minn., Preston
Thompson of N. St. Paul, Ralph Thompson of Chicago, Ill., Myrle Thompson, at
home, and Mrs. Phillip (Beeaula) Sayers of St. Paul; and 29 grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren.
