Conrad, Barbara M. (Wussow) (9 JUN 1938 - 21 AUG 2014)
Barbara M. Conrad, age 76, Abbotsford, passed away on August 21, 2014, at
Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Barbara was born June 9, 1938, in the Town of Cicero, the daughter of Herman and
Lorena (Barth) Wussow. She attended Seymour High School and after her graduation
attended Lawrence University in Appleton where she studied music. Barbara was
united in marriage to Kenneth Conrad on January 9, 1960, at Cicero United
Methodist Church. The couple resided in Abbotsford where they raised five
wonderful children.
She was a longtime employee of the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.
Barbara was an avid reader, enjoyed golf, Scrabble and spending time with her
family and friends. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in
Abbotsford.
Survivors include her loving husband, Kenneth of Abbotsford; her children,
Valerie (Paul) Knautz of Abbotsford, Michael (Tammy) Conrad of Cottage Grove,
Susan (Monty) Matthews of Pratt, Kan., and Adam (Molly) Conrad of Richfield,
Minn.; her grandchildren, Nichole, Tyler, Sarah, Jordan, Patrick, Parker,
Kenneth, Samuel and Georgia; and her great-grandchildren, Bentley and Maci. She
is further survived by one brother, Duane (Joanne) Wussow of Appleton; and two
sisters, Diane (Richard) Barnes of Ocala, Fla., and Christine (Walter) Van
Asperen of Ocala, Fla.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rick Conrad; her father
and mother-in-law, Richard and Beatrice Conrad; and one brother and
sister-in-law, David and Jeannie Wussow.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at First United
Presbyterian Church, 305 West Elm Street, Abbotsford. Rev. Marcia Thomas
presided. Committal services will take place privately at a later date. Family
and friends were invited to gather at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until
time of service.
