Miss Edna Bowen spent the latter part of last week with friends at Loyal.
The Gleaner has been busy the past week getting out a new directory for the
Greenwood Telephone Co.
Jos. Merkel and Paul Borham went to Marshfield yesterday to attend the cheese
makers convention and to take in the wrestling match which was held in the
evening.
Miss Mabel Bishop entertained Mr. and Mrs. Parr and the school teachers at her
home Tuesday evening. A most enjoyable time was had by all present.
Mr. and Mrs. L. Reese were Marshfield visitors yesterday.
Mrs. Fred Reed of Relleto, Ariz., who has been visiting her brother-in-law and
nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. F.D. Potts, returned to her home Monday.
Mrs. Susie Krieg was an over Sunday visitor with relatives at Marshfield.
Miss Phylena Smith was over from Marshfield Monday for a short visit at the home
of her mother, Mrs. Millie Smith.
The German Ladies Aid of the West Side will meet with Mrs. Albert Schwarze on
Wednesday, Feb. 2.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Blum autoed up from Marshfield Monday for a short visit at the
Jos. Merkel home.
The Equity will hold their annual meeting at Volk's Hall, Sat., Jan. 29 at 1:00
p.m. All members are requested to be present. Albert Peterson, Secretary.
Rev. D. J. Kerr of Neillsville will preach at Rutger Chapel next Sunday at 3:00
p.m. Sunday school will be at 2:00
The people from out of town who attended the funeral of Mrs. L.J. Poole were O.N.
Benedict of Darlington and Mr. and Mrs. Milo Smith of Loyal.
The King's Daughters will meet with Mrs. Hoehne, Wednesday, Feb. 2nd. All
members be sure and come, as it is election of officers.
Clinton Carlton, who attends the electrical school at Milwaukee, arrived here
last Thursday for a visit at the A.C. Barr home.
Orlando Buker spent the past week here at the home of his brother, A.C. Buker
and family.
The second of a series of club dances will be held at the opera house Friday
evening, Jan. 28th. Everybody is invited.
Mrs. Harold Stabnow as called to Loyal Monday to help take care of her mother,
who had the misfortune to break an ankle.
The St. Ann's Society will have their annual Sauerkraut Supper Feb. 3rd from
5:30 until all are served. Everybody is welcome.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Palms, Dr. and Mrs. LeGault, Mr. and Mrs. H. LeGault and Mr.
and Mrs. Elmer Etta of Loyal spent Sunday here at the A.C. Buker home.
