Syth, Phyllis J. (28 FEB 1932 – 29 AUG 2014)

Phyllis J. Syth, 82, Greenwood, passed away on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. A memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. Rev. Steve Brice officiated. Burial of cremains followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Phyllis Jane Rondorf was born on Feb. 28, 1932, in Greenwood, a daughter of Evelyn (nee DeMuth) and Joseph Rondorf. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Greenwood area, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1950. After graduation, Phyllis moved to Milwaukee, where she worked as a waitress. She married Duane L. Syth on June 13, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood. They lived in Milwaukee until moving to Santa Clara, Calif., in 1960. Phyllis worked at Lockheed as a circuit board inspector for missile launching systems until retiring in 1991. They moved back to Greenwood in 1993, where she resided until entering the Clark County Health Care Center in April 2006. Phyllis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and friends, attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, baking, bowling and dancing.

Phyllis will be dearly missed by her husband, Duane, Greenwood; three daughters, Donna Boone, San Jose, Calif., Cheryl (Roger) Gorella, Fresno, Calif., and Patti (Bill) Bright, Greenwood; four sons, Brad (Michele) Syth, Santa Cruz, Calif., Steve (Jean) Syth, Livermore, Calif., Rodney Syth, Mountain View, Mo., and Brian Syth, San Jose, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 24 step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; 19 step-great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Lloyd, West Bend, and Patricia (Mel) Alvarado, Kewaskum; five brothers, John (Shirley) Rondorf, Milwaukee, James (Norma) Rondorf, Cudahy, Charles (Marge) Rondorf, West Bend, Dennis (Sandy) Rondorf, West Bend, and Lawrence Rondorf, Greenwood; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Richard Boone; one daughter-in-law, Becky Syth; one brother, Richard Rondorf; and three sisters, Nancy Feucht, Janet Kreuser and Judy Rondorf.
