Johnson, Edward William (11 September 1883 - January 1973)

Funeral services for a Town of Weston man, Edward William Johnson, 89, of Rt. 1 Greenwood, are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 3 o’clock from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Eugene S. Antrim of the Christie United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Edward Johnson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole (Hanna) Johnson, was born September 11, 1883, in Dunn County and was educated there. He moved to Stanley, where he worked as a carpenter, in 1906. His marriage to the former Tilda Johnson took place December 31, 1912, in Stanley. The couple recently observed their 60th wedding anniversary.

The Johnsons settled in the Town of Weston in 1926 and Mr. Johnson continued to do carpenter work until his health failed in 1963. He was a member of of the Christie United Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Violet Anderegg or rural Greenwood; and three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
