Kuester, William Christ (15 December 1892 - 22 January 1973)

William Christ Kuester, 80, died Monday morning of an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) from the hill Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. David Logue, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Kuester was born December 15, 1892, in the Town of Warmer, the son of Gottlieb and Wilhelmina (Reineke) Kuester. He was married to Emma Goeke on May 7, 1914, at the home of her parents. They farmed northwest of Greenwood until 1939 and were in the tavern business for 20 years. In 1959 they retired and moved to the city of Greenwood. They celebrated their golden wedding in May, 1964.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Miss Loretta Kuester, at home, and Mrs. Douglas (Eldora) Luther, Merrill; two sons, Lawrence of St. Louis, Mo., and Leon of Greenwood; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Dill, and a brother, Norbert Kuester, both of Greenwood.
