J.J. Jones spent Sunday at Marshfield.
West Side Ladies Aid will meet with Mrs. Gust Meinholdt, July 6. Everybody is
welcome.
H. Johnson returned last Friday from a visit with relatives at Osseo, Eleva,
Blair and Whitehall.
Dance at Albert Fravert's Sunday evening, July 3rd. Music by Becker's Orchestra
of Thorp. Everybody come and have a good time.
Mr. and Mrs. H.J. William of Los Angeles, Calif. Arrived here Monday for a visit
at the Robert Dillen home on route 1. They drove their car as far as Kansas, but
had to abandon it there on account of high floods.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zettler came up from Marshfield Thursday, and with Mr. and Mrs.
P.W. Gullord and son Edward, autoed to Mankato, Minn., where they visited at the
C.M. Hunt home and at the home of Mr. Zettler's brother.
Clarence Richards of Cornell and Miss Celia Broeren of Thorp visited here at the
Ed Richards home last week.
Norman Colby spent Sunday in our city.
Ambrosia Noetzel left for Eau Claire last week, where she will attend summer
school.
There will be a barn dance at Ed Rohde's Monday evening, July 4th. Everybody is
welcome.
The Ladies Aid will meet at the John Arends home Friday p.m.
Farm for Sale: Sixty acres; 30 acres under plow, 10 acres cut over; 20 acres
timber; 2 miles north of Willard. Steve Plautz, Willard.
Rev. and Mrs. L.K. Aaberg and family of Ellsworth are visiting here at the home
of the former's brother, Rev. M.K. Aaberg and family.
Grandpa Kocher died at his home southeast of this city last week and was buried
in the Greenwood Cemetery this afternoon. An obituary will appear next week.
Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Rossman and Mrs. Joe Schwarze visited at the roy Rossman home
at Manitowoc last week.
Miss Ruth Noetzel, who has been teaching at Douglas, Wyo. The past year, is
spending her vacation here at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.H.
Noetzel.
Edna Hogue left for Eau Claire Sunday, where she will attend summer school.
The Kings Daughters will meet with Mrs. Simon Johnson Wednesday, July 6th.
Mrs. Emma Hemp was taken to the hospital at Marshfield for treatment.
C.A. Olson returned last week from a trip to Chicago, Milwaukee, Waukesha,
Beach, Kansas City and other places.
L.C. Kleinschmidt went to Prairie du Sac last Thursday, where he will spend the
summer at the home of his son Ewald.
The Big Store employees had a picnic at the dam Tuesday evening. After eating
supper a game of hand ball was played, which ended 8 – 6 in favor of the
winners. A. McCormick held the record of making the most scores, with Helen
Chadwick second. Chas. Smith was the catcher on one side, but according to
reports, was more interest in the girls that were bathing than in the game.
