Kunish, Katherine (abt. 10 JAN 1831 – buried 28 SEP 1916)

Mrs. Katherine Kunish was born in Austria and died at Niagara Falls, aged 85 years, 8 months and 18 days. She came to the United States 50 years ago with her husband, Joseph Kunish, and located in the town of Washburn where they made their home for many years. Mr. Kunish died 6 years ago last July and since that time his wife made her home with her daughter, Mrs. E.M. Featherly of Niagara Falls, N.Y. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kunish, there of whom survive their parents. They are Mrs. Featherly, Jos. Kunish of Mellen and Frank Kunish of Centralia, Wash. The funeral was held here last Thursday morning, services being conducted at St. Mary’s Church and interment being made in the Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Kunish was a woman of splendid qualities and high integrity and her death is a matter of sincere regret to all her old friends here. Mrs. E.G. Dunnigan of Grand Rapids was here to assist Mrs. Featherly at the funeral.
