Mrs. Emma Burmester, 77, of Withee died at the Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville, Monday morning. She was a resident there since June.

Mrs. Burmester, the former Emma Awe, was born Jan. 1, 1889 at Green Grove. Her marriage to Henry Burmester took place March 23, 1910. He preceded her in death October 20, 1935.

She leaves three children, nine grand children, and four great grand children.

There are two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Elizabeth) Voigtlander of Abbotsford, Mrs. Theodore (Martha) Kippenhan of Greenwood, and one brother, Arthur Awe, of Owen.

Mrs. Burmeister was an active member of the auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 865, Abbotsford, for the past 29 years.
