Neitzel, Ruth L. (2 MAR 1921 – 14 SEP 2014)
Ruth L. Neitzel, age 93, Unity died on, Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Golden
Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford. A funeral service will be held
12:00 Noon Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity.
Reverend Al Houts will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Paul's Norwegian
Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Hoard. Family will receive relatives and
friends on Thursday, from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the church in
Unity.
Ruth was born March 2, 1921 in Couderay, Wisconsin, the daughter of Melvin and
Anne (Peterson) Gilbertson. She attended school until the eighth grade. Ruth
married Charles Neitzel on December 9, 1939 in Dorchester, Wisconsin, after her
marriage she raised her children, helped with her husband's business and worked
as a cook at Norwood Health Care in Marshfield, retiring at the age of 62.
She enjoyed eating out at restaurants, traveling, gardening, canning, baking and
cooking.
Ruth is lovingly survived by her children; Robert Neitzel of Spencer, Beverly
Utke of Owen, Sandra (Boyd) Plummer of Owen and Rodney (Nell Heib) Neitzel of
Wyoming, 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a step-brother; Alvin
(Jane) Gilbertson of Portage.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Charles Neitzel, sons; Ronald
and Michael Neitzel, brothers; Ken, Melvin and Raymond Gilbertson and a sister;
Valerie Burdick.
The Maurina- Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the Neitzel family with funeral
arrangements.
