Kilty, Virginia I. (25 JAN 1919 – 15 SEP 2014)
Virginia I. Kilty, age 95, of Abbotsford, formerly of Unity passed away Monday,
September 15, 2014 at Country Terrace in Abbotsford. Private services will be
held at a later date. Burial will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Unity.
Virginia was born January 25, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Kaufman)
Fleischman in Owen. She was united in marriage to Donald Kilty on January 25,
1941 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity. Together they farmed in the Town of
Colby until 1965, moving to the Village of Unity. Virginia worked for various
mobile home factories while living in Unity.
She enjoyed crafts, was a good cook and corresponded with over 50 pen pals.
Virginia is survived by her three daughters: Darlene Andre, Sharon (Don) Smart,
and Sandy (John) Zassenhaus. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 22
great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Marvin (Lou)
Kilty and three sisters-in-law: Elvira Kilty, Mary Kilty, and Irma Kilty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald on March 14, 2013;
her son; Donald in 1952, and a grandson; Rick Kops.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the
arrangements.
