Courchaine, Elizabeth "Betty" (26 JUL 1928 - 9 SEP 2014)
Elizabeth "Betty" Courchaine, of Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014
at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 at St.
Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Father Daniel Hackel will officiate.
Interment will be held in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Family and friends are
welcome from 11 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the church. The
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.
Betty was born on July 26, 1928, the daughter of Peter and Veronica (Landmesser)
Courchaine in Hamill, S.D. She graduated from Medford High School and worked for
many years as a medical assistant/secretary in Minneapolis, Minn. Betty was a
special friend to everyone she met and all who knew her.
Betty is survived by 18 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews;
three sisters-in-law, Violet Courchaine of Beulah, Wyo., Evelyn Courchaine of
Swan Valley, Idaho and Evelyn "Evie" Courchaine of Abbotsford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Richard, Alan and
Joseph Courchaine; and a sister, Phyllis Courchaine.
