Goerg, Rita A. (Gall) (22 APR 1928 - 13 SEP 2014)

Rita A. Goerg, 86, Medford, died on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Country Gardens Assisted Living in Medford, where she had resided the past 3-1/2 years.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Interment was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.

Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

The former Rita Gall was born on April 22, 1928 in the town of Medford to the late Frank X. and Hulda (Hug) Gall. She attended town of Medford elementary schools and was a graduate of Medford High School. She worked in Eau Claire for a period of time.

On June 19, 1948 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, she married Herbert "Herb" F. Goerg, who preceded her in death on February 8, 2013. She worked as a reporter for The Star News in Medford, and did volunteer and fundraising work in the Medford community throughout the years.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed genealogy, traveling with her husband, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and playing cards.

Survivors include three children, Kathryn (Richard) Webb of Irvine, Calif., Charles (Janice) Goerg of Georgetown, Texas, and Kristin (Michael) Wood of Sherwood, and five grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Webb, Sarah (Jacob) Borshard, Christopher Goerg and Nathaniel Wood.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Marvin Gall, Lorraine Williams, Doris Dable, Eunice Gall and Franklin Gall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the family for future designation.
