Drescher, Daniel Edgar (19 December 1906 - 30 January 1973)

A native of the Town of Grant, Daniel Edgar Drescher, 66, died January 30 at his home on Rt. 1 Neillsville.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Nickel of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius (Lydia) Drescher, he was born December 19, 1906, in the Town of Grant and was educated there. Mr. Drescher took over the family farm after his father’s death and spent his entire lifetime there. A son, Robert, now operates the farm. Mr. Drescher was married to the former Laura Lichte on June 5, 1929, in Granton. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three children, Vernon and Robert Drescher of Neillsville and Mrs. Virgil (Elaine) Lezotte of Merrill; two sisters, Mrs. Nina Korth of Lake Mills and Mrs. Emil (Hattie) Korth of Ft. Atkinson; and 13 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: George Kuehn, George Erickson, Harold Dudei, Gary and Ernest Kuechenmeister, and Everett Handt. “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Sweet Hour of Prayer” were sung by Wilfred Galstad accompanied by Miss Marilyn Galstad.

Lichte and Allen and Mrs. Irene Drescher and Wayne Drescher, Greenwood; Mrs. Luther Lindow, Mr. and Mrs. William G. Lindow and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hillert and family, Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Meinhardt, Owen; Mrs. Eleanora Huebner, Willard; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Campbell, Verona; Richard Campbell and Miss Diane Guse, Sauk City.
