Armstrong, William Bruce (12 SEP 1941 - 1 SEP 2014)
W. Bruce Armstrong, 72, Madison, passed away September 1, 2014, with his wife
and family by his side.
Bruce was born on September 12, 1941, in Neillsville, the son of Donald and
Margaret Burkholder) Armstrong.
He attended local schools and graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1959. He
was active playing football, basketball and baseball. He then went on to attend
UW-Eau Claire.
Bruce married Nancy Mantik on August 25, 1962. They then moved to Madison where
he attended UW-Madison for engineering and worked at Oscar Mayer in machine
development until his retirement in 1999.
Bruce enjoyed camping, traveling, gong on cruises and spending winters in
Florida. He also enjoyed woodworking, listening to music, playing Pegs and
Jokers, driving his convertible and spending time with his children and
grandchildren.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Nancy; his three children, Shawn Larae (Dave)
Geishert of Cottage Grove, Lana Jo Armstrong of Madison and Matthew Bruce (Anne)
Armstrong of Stavanger, Norway; and eight grandchildren.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Margaret (Burkholder)
Armstrong and his brother Jack.
