Greenwood (8 February 1973)

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bayuk accompanied her brother, Ted Ormond of Black River Falls, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Ormond, Sr., of Christie, to Negaunee, Mich., for the weekend. Saturday evening they attended the wedding of their nephew and grandson, S/Sgt Bernard E. Zager, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zager of Neillsville, to Thyra Anna Matta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Matta of Negaunee.

Mrs. Paul Acker accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Richard Mikalajczyk, and her sister, Mrs. William Creg, both of Owen, to Milwaukee, where they spent several days visiting relatives, returning here Thursday.

A birthday party was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Friske in honor of Norbert Friske and his twin brother, Norman, whose birthdays occurred February 2. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Friske and daughter, Faye, of Whitehall and Mr. and Mrs. Burt R. Wells and family of Marshfield.

Miss Ruth Meredith was dismissed Friday from the Marshfield hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Thede of Abbotsford visited Mrs Alice Perkins and Mr. Olive Newman Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hinker and daughter of Marshfield spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Sylvester Hinker.

Mrs. Alice Perkins, Mrs. Olive Newman and Mrs. Rose Ludwig visited Sunday with Hazel Helwig at the hospital in Marshfield.

The adult fellowship met Sunday evening in Immanuel United Church of Christ. Kenneth Steiger presided. Albert Wehrman led devotions. It was decided to present Bibles to the confirmation class. A discussion was held on the pancake supper to be held April 25. Following the meeting Mary Jo Wagner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Wagner, gave an informative talk and showed slides taken on her visit to Venezuela as an exchange student. A lunch was served by Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Liebzeit, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Horn and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Meinholdt. The next meeting will be held March 4.
