Keiner, Carl Frederick (26 June 1900 - 14 February 1973)
Carl Frederick Keiner, 72, former Greenwood resident, died in his sleep last
week Wednesday at his home in Eau Claire. Funeral services were held Saturday
from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire and burial was made there.
Mr. Keiner, son of Christ and Elise (Romang) Keiner, was born June 26, 1900, at
Athens. He received his education in the public and high schools at Athens and
lived there until 1920. He lived in Chippewa Falls and Loyal and came to
Greenwood in 1922, where he was in the meat market business with his father and
his brother, Henry Keiner. On August 6, 1928, he was married to Florence Etta in
Winona, Minn. In 1935 they moved to Eau Claire, where he was employed at the
Gillette Rubber Company until he retired.
Survivors besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Black and Mrs.
Mary McCann of Eau Claire and Mrs. Donald (Marlys) Gudmanson of Beaver Dam; 10
grandchildren; and four sisters, Miss Louise Keiner and Mrs. Hugh (Freda)
Severson of Greenwood, Mrs. Martha Corbin of Milwaukee and Mrs. Frederick
(Edith) Gotz of Pittsville.
