Blum, Johanna (95th Birthday - 17 February 1973)

Miss Johanna Blum of Neillsville was honored Sunday in observance of her 95th birthday with a surprise open house. The open house was planned and lunch was served by Mrs. Grace Giloy, with whom Miss Blum makes her home.

A special cake was made and decorated by Mrs. Lillian Norman. Mrs. Norman Faber of Granton composed and tape recorded a song in honor of the occasion.

Among the many cards and gifts received from relatives and friends was a potted plant and a large box of fruit, the gifts of fellow-members of the Assembly of God congregation. On Monday, Miss Blum (like many another birthday girl) took some of her birthday money and went on a shopping trip downtown.

Those attending the open house from out of town, in addition to Mrs. Faber, included Miss Blum’s brother, John Blum, and his daughter, Mrs. Grace Finnila, and her two daughters and a grandchild, all of Owen, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Baughman of Greenwood, Mrs. Fritz Elmhorst of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schlinsog of Granton, Miss Carol M. Peterson of Eau Claire and Miss Bernadine Peterson of Madison.
