Sapinski, Betty L. (13 April 1932 - 8 September 2014)
Betty L. Sapinski, 82, of Medford died Monday, Sept, 8, 2024, at Care Partners
Assisted Living, in Medford where she has resided for the past two and one-half
years most recently under the care of Hope Hospice.
Betty was born April 13, 1932, at Watertown, N. Y. She received her education at
Watertown, N.Y. schools. She was married Sept. 19, 1952, in Rome, N. Y. to
Richard ‘Dick’ F. Sapinski. Betty worked as a cook and waitress at Medford area
restaurants for a period of time and also at Tombstone Pizza Corp. in Medford.
She clerked at St. Vincent DePaul in downtown Medford until her retirement. She
enjoyed her family, crocheting, reading and trips to the casino.
Betty is survived by two sons, Jerry of Stetsonville and Ricky (Delores) of
Medford; four daughters, Elaine Sapinski, Janice (special friend Allen Blume)
Raasch and Amy Dassow, all of Medford, and Kathy (Frank) Moyer of Granton; 16
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Francis McBride of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, ‘Dick’ Sapinski, Feb. 16, 2009’
daughter, Lori Jean Sapinski, July 26, 1974; her parents, Earl Bennett and Anna
Sara Parks; six brothers and nine sisters.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Hemer Funeral Home,
Medford, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Rev. David
Clements officiated. Interment of her cremated remains took place at Medford
Evergreen Cemetery II.
