Nosbisch, Florentine (14 February 1919 - 9 September 2014)

Florentine Nosbisch, 95, formerly of Neillsville passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at the Colonial Center in Colby.

Florentine was born Feb. 14, 1919, the daughter of Michael and Christina (Brost) Nosbisch in Iowa. She graduated from Edgar High School and worked as a housekeeper for various families. Florentine later moved to Neillsville where she worked at Coast to Coast Hardware until her retirement. She moved to the Abbotsford area and for the last 11 years, she has resided at the Colonial Center in Colby.

Florentine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. She also enjoyed playing cards and especially loved seeing her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. Florentine always had a smile on her face wan was a very positive person. She never had a negative thing to say about anyone and appreciated everything and everyone in her life.

Florentine is survived by her two brothers, Vincent Nosbisch of Milwaukee and Lavern Nosbisch of Abbotsford; her sister, Alvera Gottschalk of Colby; a brother-in-law, Vick Reigel of Marshfield; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lavona Reigel; an infant sister; and a special friend, Edwin Freund.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Father Daniel Hackel officiated. Interment was held in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville.
