The biggest basketball game of the season. Granton vs. Greenwood. High School
Guy. Friday evening, Jan. 27th.
Mrs. O.C. Behrens entertained the Suffragettes at her home last Saturday
evening.
The German Ladies Aid of the West Side will be postponed until further notice.
Alvia Dyre left Monday for Madison, where she will attend a tractor and
engineering school.
During the heavy wind last Saturday night, Greenwood had four chimney fires, but
none of them serious.
The Kings Daughters will meet with Mrs. A.H. Noetzel on Wednesday, Feb. 1st.
A musical and dramatic production at the Opera House, Saturday evening, Jan.
28th
The city plumbers were kept busy the forepart of the week making repairs on
busted water pipes, cause by extreme cold weather.
They're all taking about the big Rod & Gun Club dance and basket social. Be with
us Friday evening, Jan. 27th. A big time.
A local camp of Modern Woodmen installed the newly elected officers, Tuesday
evening. A splendid oyster supper was served and all present enjoyed the
evening.
Miss Grace Huntzicker is visiting at the Geo. Huntzicker home at Marshfield.
The Ladies Aid will meet with Mrs. E.D. Bickell Friday p.m.
There will be a Farmers Institute at Globe Feb. 7th and 8th.
The fire department was called out last Saturday evening to extinguish a chimney
fire at the Ed Komis home.
Mrs. W. Smith and son of Fairchild were over Sunday visitors here at the home of
Mrs. O.C. Behrens.
Mrs. Millie Smith entertained a number of her lady friends at cards last
Saturday evening. A delicious lunch was served and all report a good time.
A pie social will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Gruwell, Satu
evening, Jan. 28th. Given by the Wesley Ladies Aid. Ladies, please bring pies.
Miss Pearl Danielson of Chippewa Falls has accepted the position of bookkeeper
at the Formers Store.
The sixteen year old son of Mr. and Jr. John Scharenbrock of Willard died last
Sunday, the cause of his death being quick consumption. The funeral services
were held at Willard yesterday. The parents have the heartfelt sympathy of their
many friends in this, their great sorrow.
