Miss Sharon Haas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Haas of the City of Thorp
(Clark Co., Wis.), and a senior at Thorp High School, was chosen by the high
school faculty as Thorp High School's candidate for a Wis. State Telephone
Foundation $500 Scholarship Award.
Last year the Foundation Scholarship program made $500 awards to Robert Schoen
of Manawa and John Robert Boardman of Thorp. These boys were chosen from 110
applicants submitted from the entire state. The awards are granted on the basis
of the students' interest, character, future plans and academic ability.
Miss Haas, upon being chosen as Thorp High School's candidate, was awarded a
check for $25 by the Thorp Telephone Company, who are members of the Wis. State
Telephone Association, and who are contributors to the Wis. State Telephone
Foundation.
